New Studio Space:
At long last I've found my new studio space. I'm settled in and really starting to find my groove at Project Artaud at 17th and Alabama. Not surprisingly the change in venue has impacted the work and I'm very excited about what I've been producing in the new space. Please contact me for a studio visit. I will have an open house for the studio this summer once i get passed some deadlines for new works. Stay tuned.

What happens when two artists are inspired by a common theme? It started with a dream about abstract marionettes and a conversation between two artist-friends about collaborating to realize them. We wanted to see how working with the unfamiliar in their construction would inform our subsequent works.

Rob Dickinson of the Catherine Wheel:
One of my long standing "Desert Island 5" bands, Catherine Wheel's lead singer is now a collector of my work. It's a fantastic feeling to share my art with another artist who I've admired and been inspired by. Check out his new CD here.

San Francisco Magazine:
Check out page 138 of the December issue of San Francisco Magazine. There is a beautiful photo spread of a addition to a Potrero Hill home in which I was commissioned to create a 6 ft by 7 ft painting for the stairwell between the upstairs and downstairs. [posted 12/15/05]
'Americans in Paris':
I've returned from the 'Americans in Paris Invitational' this October with renewed energy and inspiration. This opportunity was incredible and it is estimated that 500-600 Parisians came through the exhibition over the course of 5 days. I met many wonderful people including a few from the Centre Pompidou who later gave me access to the current exhibits there. My hosts treated me to a warm welcome and a tour of Paris at night you could never get from the standard tourism trade. And yes, the food and wine were amazing. [posted 11/01/05]
I exhibited 4 new works and have brought them back to include in an upcoming solo show at Ligne Roset in Spring of 2006. Until then inspirations from Paris will permeate the work currently under way.
**In case you missed the previous News (and don't know what I'm talking about):
I'm excited to announce that I have been invited to participate in Open Studios in Paris this coming October. Through an exchange program between ArtSpan in San Francisco and Le Bastille de Genie in Paris (the organizations responsible for their respective Open Studio programs) 19 artists from San Francisco were chosen by Le Bastille de Genie to exhibit in studios of Parisian artists. The exhibition begins on October 5th with
a welcoming ceremony by various Parisian politicos and the US Ambassador to kick off the 5 day event which invites the public into artist's studios to see, discuss and purchase art. |
